In the Pemba and Monze districts of Zambia's Southern Plateau, skilled Batonga women craft iconic baskets from locally harvested palm leaves and wild twigs by first weaving palm leaves into a characteristic square to begin, and then radiating outward to create dramatic patterns.. These deep baskets make a lovely all-natural tabletop storage for fruit and vegetables, or anything else your heart desires. The dancing basket develops bumps and bends while being handcrafted, which produces its unique sculptural organic shape.

Responsibly sourced and thoughtfully crafted with local palm leaves and twigs by fair trade artisans in Zambia.
