Bring more fair trade beauty to your home with hand woven coasters. These newly redesigned coasters are 100% natural, made with forest grasses and local sisal fibers in a natural white and tea-dyed colorway.

Designed with a different two-sided weave style in some of our best-loved patterns.  Woven with a thin trivet-style weave, these sets of coasters are more versatile than ever. They also make a wonderful gift!

Woven from hand-extracted sisal fibers, a renewable resource. The tea color is created when the sisal fibers are steeped in Rwandan tea leaves.

Artisan Story

Kundagaseke Cooperative
Basket Lovers Cooperative

The 17 women of Kundagaseke “Basket Lovers” Association have dedicated themselves to getting out of poverty: rising above the conditions they used to live in. In addition to farming, the artisans spend their days weaving baskets, coasters, earrings, and bracelets to make enough money to support themselves and their families. They work patiently and diligently, a single bracelet taking a full day to create. The members of Kundagaseke use their weaving time to discuss unity, culture, and reconciliation.

The women of Kundagaseke are seeing their hard work pay off. They have been able to cover their basic necessities, like clothing, shoes, soap, and health insurance, and several have been able to purchase cell phones and invest in land and domestic animals as well.

Our purpose is to fight against poverty and to develop ourselves.

Brand Story

Azizi Life partners with rural Rwandans to bring fair trade beauty to your life and theirs. Azizi Life’s vision: To participate in local initiatives for the development of Rwandan communities, working towards physical and spiritual wholeness for all.

Azizi Life is committed to paying an agreed-upon fair wage to the artisans as soon as we receive their products. The additional income from the sale of their art allows the craftspeople & their families to afford many things that they struggled to get before.

Having the money available to invest in these kinds of things provides a real sense of security and hope for the future for the artisan and her whole family.
