These handwoven trivets will look beautiful in your kitchen, on your dining table or hanging on the wall. Combine with your favorite woven baskets and wall hangings for a striking and dynamic gallery wall. They also make a lovely housewarming gift.

Responsibly sourced and thoughtfully crafted with natural sisal fibers threaded over a core of locally-gathered forest grasses by Fair Trade artisans in Rwanda. Each trivet begins with the gathering of forest grasses and large sisal leaves. Once the sisal fibers have been extracted from the leaf, cleaned, dyed, and dried, the artisans are ready to begin. The sisal fibers are threaded around and around a core of forest grasses, the design taking shape bit by bit. The tea color is created when the sisal fibers are steeped in Rwandan tea leaves. The creamy white color is the natural color of the sisal fibers when they are extracted from the plant. In the end, you have a beautiful and practical addition to your dinner table, kitchen counter, or wall gallery. Try pairing with the coordinating coasters for the perfect set!

"Through all of life’s celebrations, sorrow, joys, heartbreaks, victories and challenges, the women of Abizeranye weave, weave, weave."
