Hand-crafted by Batonga women in rural Zambia, these beautiful fruit baskets represent generations of artistic heritage passed from mother to daughter. Each piece takes days to make and is meticulously woven from abundant natural fibers like palm leaves, wild twigs and creeping vines. Rich, earthy pigments are added with natural dyes made from bark and leaves. Use this basket as decorative storage or as a stunning wall accent. Available in three sizes. The trio would make a wonderful statement wall gallery!

Responsibly sourced and thoughtfully crafted with sun-dried palm leaves by Fair Trade artisans in Zambia. Across the Southern Province of Zambia, Tonga women gather in small groups every day to weave baskets. It is believed that their unique weaving skills are inherited from the Ancestors who crafted baskets for gathering and serving food. Today, these baskets are still widely used in rural Zambian homes and skills are passed from mother to daughter. Made from abundant natural materials like palm leaves and wild twigs, their baskets have a distinctive design with a flat square base.

"We know a lot about baskets. Its our heritage and our tradition."
